~The Anima-Ture~
Recently i see it popping up more and more.

The world otaku day.

What is it? I don't know...
A day where everyone who is considered a otaku, stand up in their room and shout 'I'm a otaku!' ?

No clean or clear reasons are given about what TWOD presents or stands for.

Not realizing that 'otaku' is a negative word used by normal plebs (people).
People who are in 'love' with anime/Manga are divided in different levels.
You got ;

  • The curious one - wants to learn more
  • The regular one - watches or read anime or Manga from time to time
  • The addicted one - watching it everyday and at least 5 episodes every day
  • The heavy addicted one - watching it every day at least one series a day
  • The otaku - Watching nonstop, reading nonstop, throwing everything away just so he/she can be with his/her pixilated love of their live.
Many consider themselves a 'otaku' because they watch it "non-stop".

What is non-stop?

From waking up, you turn on some songs featured in Anime series.

Going to school/work with an mp3/mp4/smartphone/portable music player to listen or see Anime clips, compilations or music.

Vice versa when going home.

At home you go immediately to your TV or computer to turn it on so you can view the hundreds of topics you've opened on Manga/anime related forums or blogs.

Do some household chores the Japanese way while you have anime-related music on.

Drinking tea with holding your hand on the bottom of the cup.

cook Japanese-like food and recipes.

Take a shower first then a bath.

Drink some more tea with a Japanese-like way to hold the cup.

Put a blanket on a table and sit under it with your legs while watching the news or something anime related.

Go to bed and clap yourself around a body pillow as they do it in the series.

All of this does not make you a otaku!

Even i, who knows nothing to talk about besides gaming and the Japanese culture, can't be called a otaku.

I am far from it but those who call themselves a otaku are even farther away from it.

The world otaku day starts at 15 December at 6:30 and ends at 22:30 (from various forums)
